我是很容易被感動的人 但也是恢復時間很短的人 理性可以輕易跟上感性  在大部分的狀況下 對我來說 這是檢驗藝術價值的一種方法  能夠在感性衝動退去 仍然被我理性玩味的作品 至少有某種價值

 

這首Annebal Lee安娜貝李 我之前看過至少2次（因為各詩選都會收 只要有Allan Poe愛倫坡）  但一直到某次英詩課看到英文 我才第一次體會到這首詩的奧妙

 

Annabel Lee

 

Edgar Allan Poe 1849 (40歲)

 

It was many and many a year ago,

In a kingdom by the sea,

That a maiden there lived whom you may know

By the name of Annebal Lee;

And this maiden she lived with no other thought

Then to love and be loved by me.

 

I was a child and she was a child,

In this kingdom by the sea;

But we loved with a love that was more than love-

I and my Annebal Lee;

With the love that the winged seraphs of heaven

Coveted her and me.

 

And this was the reason that, long ago,

In this kingdom by the sea;

A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling

My beautiful Annebal Lee;

So that her highborn kinsman came

And bore her away from me, to shut her up in a sepulcher

In this kingdom by the sea.

 

The angels, not half so happy in heaven, went envying her and me-

Yes! That was the reason(as all man know,

In this kingdom by the sea)

That the wind came out of the cloud by night,

Chilling and killing my Annebal Lee.

 

But our love it was stronger by far than the love

Of those who were order than we-

Of many far wiser than we-

And neither the angels in heaven above,

Nor the demons down under the sea,

Can ever dissever my soul from the soul

Of the beautiful Annebal Lee.

 

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams

Of the beautiful Annebal Lee;

And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes

Of the beautiful Annebal Lee;

And so, all the night-tide, I die down by the side

Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,

In the sepulcher there by the sea,

In her tomb by the sounding sea.

天使們 天堂裡沒有一半快樂 嫉妒著她和我

夜晚在雲層間吹出一陣風

凍壞與殺害我的安娜貝李

 

但我們的愛比愛更堅強

比起那些較我們年長－

比起許多遠較我們睿智－

即使天使們高居天堂之上

惡魔在深海底下也不可以

分離我的靈魂由那

月光從不流露不攜帶我的夢

所以 整晚的浪濤 我躺臥一旁

在濤聲不絕的海邊她的墓地

 

 

中文是我自己翻譯的 乍看之下 這首詩被我翻譯的支離破碎  非常不合中文句型 不過我這樣做其實有目的 雖然翻譯的仍然不太好  理由見下篇
